Being A Blogger
I started this blog for a reason. To keep in touch and share some of the things in my life with some people that I don’t see any more. I am surprised at how open I have become over the nearly two years that I have been writing here - I have realised that no-one really cares much about what I share. I wonder if I feel relieved at that or disappointed?
I have not turned into a guru in any field, I have not become famous or infamous, yet… Still this little blog of mine has about 100 visitors everyday and that has surprised me. I make almost no money from here, but then again I have not tried on this site to make money.
I just like writing, if I go a week without writing anything here I start to feel a bit guilty. Well shortly I am off to the Canadian Rockies and I will have three weeks without a thing here or in any of the other places I write on the web. No computer, no stats - for three weeks, it is a holiday so no I will not be checking my mail or checking my phone for messages, not this year. Last year I went away for three weeks and took my computer with me - not a great idea. My head just can’t be in two places at the one time.
I have a good life. I have a good life. I have a good life. I don’t say that enough. I get up every day and look forward to my day and often towards work - I like what I do, and I have become quite good at it. I live with a great woman - who hates if I mention her here - so that is enough. And I live in a country that is very easy to live in. Top 4% of the world - quite something, I think it is too easy to forget stuff like that, and start complaining about what I’m not getting.
I am so glad I was born.
