I just work, and this morning I am tired. Slept well, still tired, unusual. my best time for working is the morning. Before noon I can get a lot done, the afternoon often slips away. But today…
Our bed feels empty, just me. Our flat, well just me again. She said to me before “it is harder for the one that is left behind.” I had not thought about it before, usually I am the one that is away, so now i agree. The one that is away is doing some new things, the one at home, well in my case just works.
However I have got a lot of work done. Strange how something that I loved doing has become work, it would be nice to move away from that description again. When I put up my first web site, Camino de Santiago de Compostela, it was an incredible feeling. I had just decided while recovering from an operation that I would build a web site. In my head it went like “it is time I should know how to build a web site.” So bought a book, my usual way of learning something new, and I built this site. It was easy looking back on it, but I do forget the days spent try to sort out one problem at a time.
Now I see the future as working on the web. I have started to build my own little portfolio of sites. The West Highland Way by Walking in Scotland, nearly finished, but still fairly good as it is. The Wicklow Way by Walking in Ireland, huge amount of work still to be done, and huge potential also. Walking in England, just one page, it will be a while before I get to it. Prague City and Czech Republic Travel Guide, this one will take the next six months, it will be quite a large site and involve a lot of detail, but it is on a subject area that I like so it will be fine. Reiki Training Course, again one that has a lot of work still to be done, not even a good template up yet, and a lot of typing ahead. And lastly, Search Engine Optimization Blog, just something that I write a few days a week for my own business and fun, yes fun still, it gives me a chance like the other blogs to play with some things around optimization of web sites.
