I love and get driven mad building web sites. At first when I started it was just great to see the stuff that I wrote on the net, however I discovered that alone was not enough for me. I wanted people to read it and like it. This has happened on a couple of the small niche sites that I have now finished – if they are ever finished, as there is always more I think to add, but I digress.
I came across a Scottish Website today that I like. I found some info on the author of the site and I must say I was a touch surprised. He is quite old – from working out the math. So, I also, fall into the ageist view that all good things on the net are created by energetic bright young things. I will be 46 this year, oh my god where did the time go, but writing this down does not have a positive effect on me, I feel that some things are no longer open to me, tough get on with it.
Anyway back to the site I read. This is what I want. A great bit huge site full of useful helpful information. The Scotland one have taken the author about ten years, just an amazing amount of time to be working on building a site. I have now been working on my Camino site for about two years and have quite a few plans for it during this year, a forum and a long needed new design, it has been easy to work on it off and on over this last two years – so maybe ten years is not so frightening.
I have two sites on Ireland at present, one I am just finishing somethings on Glendalough – the other I am not going to post just now as it it not yet fit for public consumption. I can see both of these becoming quite large and well visited over time. So now back to write another page and that is what it takes, just adding one good piece of content after another. I walked 780km, twice, and did not expect to be finished on the first day, it took four weeks.
