Tired tonight, out walking and taking photos today. Building a site on walking in Ireland, and offering walking tours Glendalough Tours, it will be interesting to see how it goes. There are loads of tour buses that stop by the area for only 30 mins at a time…
Being tired like this reminds me of many nights from the Camino, after walking all day in the heat of Spain and covering about 30km, I would feel that tiredness that I feel now. This type of tiredness is not the weary type – but something – god I can’t write tonight – mind cannot find the correct words – maybe tired.
Reading the paper tonight – the Vatican’s department store are having their January sales. Now that they are having sales did not surprise me, but the fact that they have there own department store for the priests and nuns that sell the likes of flat screen tv’s – kind of blows my mind. I dislike the catholic religion in general – but this does start to get fairly specific. These people teach one thing and live another – child abuse in Ireland, priests raping children and they got away with it – and their bloody church hide it and hide the offenders.
The main problem though I have with them is a result of reading. Reading the bible that is, something that the church does not encourage people to do. The incongruity between that text and the image of it today in the church bear no resemblance to each other – however the bible is also a political book – political in the way the information that was allowed in and the information that was not. Which leads me on to my final point, I have started referring to the Roman Catholic church as a political organization recently. In all ways it resembles any other other political party; the main resemblance is that the church is concerned with its own survival more than the people that believe in it – now that is wholesale abuse.
