Last night on Sky News it was reported that Prince Charles was now in training to succeed the Queen as head of state.
Now I am no insider, but I can see a placed story when I come across it. So watch out for the Queens speech this Christmas – something along the lines of “It is time to step aside and let the younger generation…”
Queen Elizabeth is 81 years old, (born 21st April 1926). One would think that it is well past time for her to step aside and stop being a complete control freak. Surely she now believes in her oldest son well enough to step up and take on the mantel of the crown – for all it stands for in this modern age.
Charles was born on 14th Nov 1948. He is now 59 years old, and one would think that most people in that age group would be ready to put their feet up and take the easy life for a while – not be on the edge of stepping into the biggest job of their life.
Really we all deserve to see the 21st century King in action, not just because I like a laugh. And I am sure I will laugh – however I am also aware if the cameras were pointing at me 24/7 you would have many laughs at me also. But I don’t get to live the life of privilege on the backs of the taxpayers.
Come on Elizabeth, step aside give the boy a go.
