It is manic here. It just seems like money is never a problem and people cannot spend it quick enough coming up to Christmas. I stand back and look at it all thinking that I am not really a part of it, I am though. This weekend I have to finish my Christmas shopping, the weekend after we are off to Prague for xmas, that part I am looking forward to.
Anyway here in Dublin every year they police get out on the road and do what is called “operation free flow” most people would call it something else. So instead of having an idea of how long it will take to get somewhere, it is all screwed. For example getting to work is much faster – but you can’t really trust it – as it is not the same all the time. However getting home at night has turned into a bit of a nightmare, I wish the cops would just leave it all alone, and sit inside their warm cars not doing anything like the rest of the year.
Do I sound hard on the poor police? I got a scam email recently trying to get my paypal details and it led to a fake paypal site. So I though I would forward it on to the police, they have been in the papers with their computer fraud unit. So yeah, forward it on to the computer fraud squad. All sounds too easy. I phoned the local police station, no answer, another in a nearby town, no answer, so the main station in Dublin. Got an answer. Yipeeee.
“Yes, we have a computer fraud squad, here are the numbers – they only work 9 to 5 – cool. So I phoned them the next morning, “you are going to laugh at this he told me, we don’t have email so you can’t email the information to us. Will you print it out and post it to us.” Oh my God!
