Marks & Spencer Dublin

by Leslie on December 12, 2007

Marks & Spencer Dublin is not for me. It used to be, so what the hell has happened?

I wonder if it is me or the fault of Marks & Spencer. I buy some stuff from there – formal stuff really all their casual stuff now seems to be made for someone in their sixties – not that there is anything wrong with being in your sixties. But I wish they would get the marketing right, their ads appear to be pushed at my age group (somewhere between 30 and 50), but in my last visit the choice of clothes were built for someone much older.

Now I hate shopping and generally I just want to go and get it over with. I go out shopping with intent, never to just browse. Give me what I am looking for and I make my mind up quickly and have my wallet on the cash desk parting with the hard earned readies. Advertise that you have the stuff I want and you don’t really – well that just pisses me off. And Marks & Spencer that what you are doing here in Dublin.

I have thoughts that it could well just be Ireland. Anytime that I am back in Glasgow I seems to find more of what I will buy in Marks, they have bigger stores and more choice. Is this a little Ireland problem I run into again? Due to the crap government policies here retail outlets have been forced to build small stores, it was a deliberate policy to limit the size of store to protect small shops – and the consequence has been much higher prices for us all.

So back to Marks & Sparks – your food is great and I will spend loads of my money there before xmas, but take your whole clothes range for men and stuff it.
