Marley, Me, and Piss on Dublins Streets

River Lifey Dublin

Went off to the cinema last night to see Marley & Me, it is a nice easy feel good movie that has many of the women in the audience going ahhh quite often.  I must say, much to my surprise, I didn’t hate it.  In fact I enjoyed the movie.

Marley and Me follows many traditional feel good movie lines, but it is acted and put together well.  A story of life, getting older, dealing with dashed expectations, birth and death.  There were quite a few hankies in view at one point.  Over all I recommended for a feel good night out.

We went to cineworld as our friend have these unlimited cards – see as many movies as you like for one monthly price, we should do the same – but I suppose our commitment to any one cinema is not that strong.

Walking from there back down to the Liffey is horrible.  The north side of the city is generally a dump and never feels safe – it is too easy to see the unsavoury side of Dublin north of the Liffey.

These streets are not well lit, a car had crashed in the Luas tram, and there is piss all over the streets.  I have always been amazed at the piss on the streets of Dublin – it seems that it is quite normal for men generally to just piss on Dublin’s streets.  It is disgusting, walking home after a good night out and trying to avoid the streams of piss on the streets – I have never seen the likes in any other city.
