I bought reading glasses at Vision express about a year ago. And they were grand to start with, they look good and they are comfortable to wear. But they are hell to keep clean.
The previous specs I had came from a small optician in Maynooth when I lived there. They were fairly cheap, not so good looking, but yes you guessed it – they were so easy to keep clean. Just a simple wipe with the cloth and they were streak free. With these fancy glasses – well I have my work cut out. They have some sort of coat on them, I can’t remember why the special coating was sold to me, but I am guessing that it is this that makes it a 5 min job to clean them.
5 minutes, not long I hear you say. However I was used to my old glasses that took about 20 seconds and I did not have to spray them with some cleaning fluid.
Progress. I wonder sometimes how much it adds to my life.
